The lawmakers note that most <strong>H-4<\/strong> and <strong>L-2<\/strong> life spouses are highly educated people and that these delays in giving <strong>employment authorization documents (EADs) <\/strong>are hurting both the individual candidates and the <strong>U.S. economy<\/strong> as a whole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Suggestions to Improve EAD Processing Time<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>These members from Congress provide two specific suggestions to address the <strong>H-4\/L-2 EAD backlogs<\/strong>. First, they suggest, in cases where the principal&#8217;s H1B or <strong>L-1 petition <\/strong>is filed simultaneously with the H-4\/L-2 and <strong>EAD applications<\/strong>, that all the applications be adjudicated at the same time. As indicated in the letter, this was standard practice by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (<strong>USCIS<\/strong>) before the change by the Trump Government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"has-text-align-right\">[<a href=\"https:\/\/www.h1btransfersusa.com\/blog\/h-1b-cap-season-its-time-to-prepare\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">H-1B Cap Season: It\u2019s Time to Prepare!<\/span><\/a>]<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The second suggestion is that the <strong>premium processing service<\/strong> be made available for H-4, L-2, and EAD applications. As the lawmakers note, the USCIS could charge up to <strong>$1,400<\/strong> for every application. And also, this income could pay for the <strong>additional expense<\/strong> of having to expedite the processing of these cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>Conclusion<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Moreover, we trust <strong>Secretary Mayorkas<\/strong> takes this letter in a serious way and rapidly moves to implement the two ideas. It has a significant impact on families, <strong>U.S. employers<\/strong>, and the U.
