{"id":1306,"date":"2022-02-02T15:47:50","date_gmt":"2022-02-02T15:47:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.h1btransfersusa.com\/blog\/?p=1306"},"modified":"2022-02-02T15:47:51","modified_gmt":"2022-02-02T15:47:51","slug":"u-s-takes-actions-to-attract-stem-talent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.h1btransfersusa.com\/blog\/u-s-takes-actions-to-attract-stem-talent\/","title":{"rendered":"U.S. Takes Actions to Attract STEM Talent"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On 21st January 2022, the <strong>Biden Government<\/strong> declared that it would take action to attract <strong>STEM talent <\/strong>(science, technology, engineering, and math) talent to the U.S. in furtherance of its efforts to eliminate barriers to<strong> legal immigration<\/strong> as given in the Executive Order given 1st February 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>U.S. agencies<\/strong> like the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), BridgeUSA, and the U.S. Department of State&#8217;s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) will work together to further attract those in the<strong> STEM fields <\/strong>STEM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>These initiatives include STEM talent, but are not limited to:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The Early Career<strong> STEM Research<\/strong> Initiative tries to connect BridgeUSA exchange sponsors with interested U.S.- based <strong>STEM host<\/strong> associations.<\/li><li>The Academic Training Extensions for<strong> J-1 College<\/strong> and University Students. Allows students who are pursuing (or have recently finished) <strong>STEM-related<\/strong> studies. The opportunity to extend their academic training to a maximum of <strong>36 months<\/strong> rather than the previous cap of <strong>18 months<\/strong>.<\/li><li>DHS has added <strong>22 new fields<\/strong> of study to the STEM Optional Practical Training <strong>(OPT) program<\/strong>. Examples include bioenergy, general forestry, earth system science, economics and <strong>computer science<\/strong>, mathematical economics, and business analytics. A full list of the new fields of study will be communicated through a <strong>Federal Registry notice<\/strong>.<\/li><li><strong>DHS <\/strong>is giving a USCIS policy manual update to explain how the national interest waiver can be utilized for people. With <strong>advanced degrees<\/strong> in STEM in order to promote efficient and effective processing by <strong>USCIS<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"has-text-align-right\">[<a
