{"id":1874,"date":"2022-08-24T10:04:12","date_gmt":"2022-08-24T10:04:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.h1btransfersusa.com\/blog\/?p=1874"},"modified":"2022-08-24T10:04:13","modified_gmt":"2022-08-24T10:04:13","slug":"latest-h-1b-visa-news-h1b-cap-reached-for-fy2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.h1btransfersusa.com\/blog\/latest-h-1b-visa-news-h1b-cap-reached-for-fy2023\/","title":{"rendered":"H-1B visa: The US reaches the cap for 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The US has received a sufficient number of applications expected to reach the Congressionally mandated <strong>65,000 H1B visa cap<\/strong> for the fiscal year 2023, the country&#8217;s federal agency for <strong>immigration services <\/strong>said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The H-1B visa is a <strong>non-immigrant visa <\/strong>that allows US organizations to use foreign workers in <strong>specialty occupations <\/strong>that require theoretical or technical expertise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Technology organizations depend upon it to recruit a huge number of <strong>employees <\/strong>every year from nations like India and China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>H-1B visa program<\/strong> is the most sought work visa among foreign professionals, including Indians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>The US reaches the H1B Cap for 2023<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;USCIS has gotten an adequate number of petitions needed to reach the Congressionally mandated 65,000 <strong>H-1B visa regular cap<\/strong>. And the 20,000 <strong>H-1B visa<\/strong> US advanced degree exemption, known as the master&#8217;s cap. For the fiscal year 2023,&#8221; the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (<strong>USCIS<\/strong>) said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moreover, USCIS has completed sending <strong>non-selection notifications<\/strong> to registrants&#8217; online accounts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The status for registrations was properly submitted for the FY 2023 <strong>H-1B numerical allocations<\/strong>. Yet that were not chosen, will currently show. &#8220;Not Selected: Not selected &#8211; not eligible to file an<strong> H-1B cap petition <\/strong>based on this registration,&#8221; it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the meantime, the<strong> federal agency<\/strong> will continue to accept and process petitions that are otherwise exempt from the cap, it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"has-text-align-right\">[<a href=\"https:\/\/www.h1btransfersusa.com\/blog\/united-states-may-not-conduct-a-second-h-1b-visa-lottery-for-fy23\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">United States may not conduct a second H-1B visa lottery for FY23<\/span><\/a>]<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Petitions filed for current <strong>H-1B workers<\/strong> who have been counted previously against the cap. Those who still retain their cap number, are exempt from the <strong>FY 2023 H-1B cap<\/strong>,&#8221; it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, USCIS will continue to accept and process petitions filed to extend the amount of time a current<strong> H-1B worker<\/strong>. It might stay in the US, and change the terms of employment for current H-1B workers. Also, allow current H-1B workers to <strong>change employers<\/strong>, and allow current H-1B workers to work simultaneously in extra <strong>H-1B positions<\/strong>, it
