This bulk appointment opening reflects an ongoing commitment to <strong>H&amp;L workers<\/strong>,&#8221; US Embassy in India said in a tweet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;In the initial nine months of 2022, the U.S. Mission to India had already processed more than <strong>160,000 H&amp;L visas<\/strong> and we will continue to prioritize H&amp;L workers for <strong>visa appointments <\/strong>as resources allow,&#8221; the Embassy added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The move was first reported by Wear Heflin, Clergyman Advisor for <strong>Consular Issues<\/strong>, US Consulate last month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;There are individuals in the US on an <strong>H or L visa<\/strong> who haven&#8217;t had the option to return home to<strong> visit families<\/strong> since Coronavirus began, we feel for them,&#8221; Heflin said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>100,000 visa appointments for H&amp;L workers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The embassy also declared it would be taking special measures to cut down wait times for <strong>B1\/B2 visas<\/strong>, which are used by tourists and business people, throughout the following <strong>couple of months<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Consular officials are now temporarily authorized, through <strong>31st December 2022<\/strong>. To waive in-person interviews for specific individual petition-based <strong>non-immigrant work visas <\/strong>and their qualifying derivatives in the following categories:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>People in Specialty Occupations (<strong>H-1B visas<\/strong>)<\/li><li>Trainee or Special Education Visitors (H-3 visas)<\/li><li>Intracompany Transferees (L visas)<\/li><li>People with Extraordinary Ability or Achievement (<strong>O visas<\/strong>)<\/li><li>Athletes, Artists, and Entertainers (P visas)<\/li><li>Participants in International Cultural Exchange Programs (Q visas)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, <strong>US Secretary <\/strong>of State Antony Blinken has extended consular officials&#8217; current ability to waive the in-person interview.
