Some Indian techies<\/strong>, who changed to social media major Meta after stopping their stable jobs just two to three days ago<\/strong>, are among the 11,000 individuals<\/strong> laid off by the organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Facebook has laid off 11,000 employees <\/strong>across the globe to reduce expenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An IT professional Neelima Agarwal, who joined Meta two days back posted on the social media platform<\/strong> LinkedIn, that she is among the individuals who have lost their jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Moved to Canada from India just seven days back and joined meta 2 days ago<\/strong> after going through such a long visa process<\/strong>. But the unfortunate sad day has come and I got laid off,” she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Neelima had left her two-year-old job at Microsoft Office in Hyderabad <\/strong>to join Meta, as per her LinkedIn profile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After working for over three years at the Amazon office<\/strong> in Bengaluru, Vishwajeet Jha said he joined Meta three days back and now laid off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I joined Meta three days back after waiting for the long visa process. <\/strong>Thanks to all the folks who made that transition smooth. Truly sad that this occurred, my heart goes out for every individual <\/strong>who is impacted by the layoffs,” Jha posted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meta laid off Indian techies within 2-3 days<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Indian employees<\/strong> of Meta, the firm that claims Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. It has been thrown off guard after the US firm declared 11,000<\/strong> layoffs universally, or 13%<\/strong> of its workforce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While no country-specific numbers <\/strong>have yet been disclosed, Meta’s India staff are searching for clues on their future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Company authorities went incommunicado soon after Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg made public a letter he had written to employees <\/strong>declaring the job cuts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zuckerberg has guaranteed four months of base pay plus two extra weeks <\/strong>for each year of service. As a severance package to the affected employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Raju Kadam, who was important for Meta’s technical group. <\/strong>Said he has been in the US for 16 years<\/strong> and never faced job loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The layoffs at Meta come within a week of massive job cuts<\/strong> at the social media platform Twitter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
