In a press conference, State Department Spokesperson Ned Price stated that nearly 125000 student visas<\/strong> were issued by the United States embassy and consulates in India during the fiscal year 2022<\/strong>, breaking their previous record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While responding to a query over the slowdown in clearing visas backlog <\/strong>for Indian tourists<\/strong>, Price admitted that there was a delay but also said, “Our embassy and consulates in India broke their record for the number of student visas given in the single fiscal year 2022<\/strong>. We have granted almost 1,25,000 student visas<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We recognize that some applicants may still face extended visa wait times. <\/strong>And we are making every effort to reduce visa interview appointment<\/strong> wait times as soon as possible, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Price stated that the United States is committed to preserving national security and making it easier for non-immigrant travelers<\/strong> to travel legally. Additionally, he stated that the administration’s goal and timely visa processing <\/strong>are crucial to the US economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

US Sets New Record By Issuing 125000 Student Visas for Indians<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, the price stated, “We have doubled the hiring of US foreign and service personnel to do this important work<\/strong>“. Highlighting the United States’ efforts to expedite visa processing. Visas processing<\/strong> is recovering more quickly than anticipated and over the coming years we expect to reach pre-pandemic processing levels<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
