US H-1B visa draws: According to a recent study, Amazon, Infosys, and Tata Consultancy Service are the biggest benefactors of the H-1B visa<\/strong> in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based on data from the USCIS H-1B Employer <\/strong>Data Hub, a new analysis by the National Foundation for American Policy (NFAP) found that Amazon had 6,396 <\/strong>approved H-1B petitions <\/strong>for initial employment in FY 2022. In FY 2021 and FY 2020, the newest H-1B petitions were approved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In FY 2022, Infosys<\/strong> had the second most H-1B petitions for initial employment at 3,151<\/strong>. Which was approximately 2,000 f<\/strong>ewer for the company than in FY 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next was TCS with 2,725,<\/strong> also lower than the previous year, followed by Cognizant (2,521), Google (1,562)<\/strong>. Also, Meta\/Facebook (1,546), HCL America (1,260), and IBM (1,239).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Only 0.05 percent of the approximately 165 million <\/strong>people employed in the United States are represented by the 85,000 new H-1B petitions<\/strong> granted annually to companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite decreasing denial rates, American employers<\/strong> have been struggling with a worker shortage caused by the H-1B visa’s <\/strong>low annual limit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In FY 2021, H-1B visa holders’ <\/strong>median annual salary was $108,000, according to USCIS data. In FY 2021, the median salary for H-1B visa holders <\/strong>in computer-related occupations was $111,000. And the average salary in computer-related occupations was $118,000<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
