For some international students on F-1 visas<\/strong>, the premium processing of work authorization<\/strong> has been expanded in the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS<\/strong>) announced that some F-1 students <\/strong>will now be able to select premium processing services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A premium processing<\/strong> upgrade can be requested by F-1 students applying for Optional Practical Training (OPT) and F-1 students applying for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) OPT extensions<\/strong> who have a pending Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For F-1 students in these categories, USCIS has also made it possible to submit Form I-907, Request for Premium Processing Service<\/strong>, online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the most recent paper version<\/strong> of this form will continue to be accepted via mail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a press release, premium processing will begin on March 6<\/strong>, with additional categories beginning on 3rd April<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“As previously announced, the expansion of premium processing<\/strong> is being implemented in a phased approach as part of USCIS\u2019 efforts to increase efficiency and reduce burdens on the overall immigration system<\/strong>,” the agency stated in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

US extends work authorization for some students on F-1 visas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

According to USCIS Director Ur M. Jaddou, “the availability of premium processing for certain F-1 students<\/strong>. In addition to the ease of online filing will streamline the immigration experience<\/strong> for a great number of international students.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“As we continue to create operational efficiencies and increase access to the immigration system<\/strong> for stakeholders, applicants, petitioners, requestors, and those we serve,” he added. The ongoing expansion of online filing<\/strong> is a priority for USCIS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new online-filing procedures for Form I-907,<\/strong> Request for Premium Processing Service, are now available. To F-1 students who are seeking employment authorization<\/strong> in the above categories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students requesting premium processing should not file before the following dates. Because premium processing expansion <\/strong>for certain F-1 students will occur in phases:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beginning March 6<\/strong>, USCIS will accept Form I-907 requests, filed either via paper form or online. For certain F-1 students who already have a pending Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization<\/strong>. If they are filing under one of the following categories:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
