US President-elect Biden has said he will introduce an immigration bill (legislation )<\/strong>“quickly” after taking office, changing the Trump administration’s policies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I will introduce an immigration bill immediately <\/strong>and have it sent to the appropriate committees to begin immediately”, he told reporters in Wilmington<\/strong>, Delaware on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Biden was reacting to a question on what his government <\/strong>would do first after his inauguration on January 20<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently he had also promised an immigration<\/strong> overhaul within 100 days<\/strong> of taking office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reversing the Trump “brutal” immigration policies<\/strong> was Biden’s one of the key election promises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Restricting immigration has been a focus of the Trump government<\/strong>. Since its first days when it gave the travel ban on seven Muslim-majority<\/strong> nations. Also, it has proceeded into Trump’s last year in office <\/strong>as the White House utilizes the Covid pandemic<\/strong> as cover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Trump government solidified the immigration rules<\/strong> on those permitted to seek asylum in the United States.<\/strong> And advocating a merit-based immigration system to save US workers. <\/strong>Additionally, his government tried ending the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals in 2017<\/strong>. “I will, in fact, rescind the executive orders<\/strong> that the president has in fact initiated that are contrary <\/strong>to, what I think, is either his authority and\/or even if it is his authority, contrary to the interest <\/strong>of the United States on environmental issues<\/strong> and a whole range of other things,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Biden had pledged to rejoin the Paris climate agreement<\/strong> on the first day of his presidency. The US on November 4<\/strong> a year ago officially pulled out from the 2015 Paris Agreement on Climate Change<\/strong>, a decision originally announced by President Donald Trump in 2017<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
