The Department of Homeland Security (DHS<\/strong>) is looking for comment <\/strong>from the public on how U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS<\/strong>) can reduce barriers that prevent both U.S. also, foreign residents<\/strong> from acquiring access to the full assortment of legally available immigration services and benefits.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

DHS published a Request for Public Input<\/strong> in the Federal Register looking for the public’s input on barriers to USCIS benefits and services<\/strong>, including but not restricted to adjustment of status, naturalization, H-1B nonimmigrant status<\/strong>, refugee status, asylum, and parole. A central goal of the Request for Public Input <\/strong>is to promote equity, above all by reducing administrative burdens, undue complexity, unnecessary confusion<\/strong>, and processing and waiting times. The department requests<\/strong> feedback about any regulations or processes that disproportionally burden disadvantaged, vulnerable or marginalized communities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DHS Asks For Public Input on Immigration Services & Benefits<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This effort will help identify process improvements <\/strong>for USCIS to operate more productively and adequately. Also to improve its administration of the country’s immigration benefits<\/strong>, a central pillar in the agency\u2019s mission. These improvements have the potential to give significant advantages to people; state, local, tribal, and territorial governments<\/strong>; small businesses and startups; educational institutions of all kinds; and nonprofits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, this announcement is a part of the Department’s commitment<\/strong> to fulfilling the promise of President Joe Biden’s 2nd Feb 2021<\/strong>, Executive Order 14012<\/strong>. \u201cRestoring Faith in Our Legal Immigration Systems<\/strong> and Strengthening Integration and Inclusion Efforts for New Americans<\/strong>“. Which directs responsible Federal agencies <\/strong>to identify strategies that promote inclusion and identify barriers<\/strong> that impede access to immigration benefits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The public may submit comments, identified by docket number USCIS-2021-0004<\/strong>, through the Federal eRulemaking Portal<\/strong>. Kindly follow the instructions for submitting comments<\/strong>. All written comments are requested on or before 19th May 2021.<\/strong> However, comments submitted in a way other than the one listed in the Federal Register<\/strong>, including letters or e-mails sent to DHS or USCIS officials<\/strong>, may not be surveyed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Feedback from this initiative will be utilized to refine and strengthen strategic plans<\/strong>, consider reforms. And execute reports according to President Biden\u2019s Executive Order 14012<\/strong>.
