Emergency services for <strong>U.S. residents<\/strong> will also continue.<\/li><li>The Embassy said U.S. Consulates in Chennai, <strong>Hyderabad<\/strong>, and Kolkata continue offering limited<strong> visa services<\/strong>, yet may cancel a few appointments as needed by local <strong>COVID-19 conditions<\/strong>.<\/li><li>The cancellations are an illustration of how capricious<strong> consular services <\/strong>can be during a pandemic. Even before Friday&#8217;s announcement, we had seen an increasing number of cancellations at <strong>U.S. offices<\/strong> in India. <strong>Consulates <\/strong>have also reached out to certain candidates instructing them to use dropbox for specific submissions.<\/li><li>Universally, <strong>consular operations<\/strong> remain restricted and conditions change frequently. Also, regional <strong>travel bans <\/strong>remain in place barring entry to most <strong>foreign nationals<\/strong> who have been truly present in Brazil, China, Iran, Ireland, South Africa, the United Kingdom, or the Schengen Area in the <strong>14 days <\/strong>before entry.
